Barry, sorry about the mix-up! I am rather diappointed about the way
the market is going, but then, on the fixed portfolgio, I have done
well despite the termoil, and on the trading, I have done much better.
What gets me is that by Sept. of this year I was sitting on 28% grouth
and was not yet satisfied!! I thought to see 35% this year!!!!

I am really concerned about the 1998. With Japanese, Koreans,
and the rest of Asian countires in crisis and with not clear end in sight, I think it will be wishfull thinking if we hope for a quick fix! The Japanese economy which is supposed to lead the rest of Asian countires is in crisis! These guys will be so hard-up that will not be investing in other Asian countries and I doubt if US or Europe will be risking their moeny! So, if we have a melt-down in Japan, it could spread into South America and before you know it, we may have major bank failing in Europe or the US. I don't think we should be worried if Koreans suffer deprivation or hardship, what is matter of concerned is how their crisis will effect our investment and lives.

As for CPQ and INTC, give or take, we are 30 dollars form the year's peak. I don't think we will see a up-turn. The mood is so bleak that even an split and great performance this quarter may not push the stock up more than a few notches! I think, now, we have different fundementals.
It may take a year or two for Asia to pick-up,if not more. We have
to wait until May 1998 to see the real effect of the Asian slow down
on the Hi-tech sector in particular and the market in general. I hope
I am wrong!

Yes, I am still considering coming in Jan. Here we have ice and snow
and I need some sun and green fairways!! GGG.

Kind regards,

Yaacov
