The tropical waves have been moving from west Pacific to east Pacific and is slowing moving into Gulf of Mexico. Moisture plumes from the Gulf will cause lots of rain along the entire Gulf Coast (mostly centered on New Orleans). These plumes will feed into synoptic fronts moving across the Great Plains.

After ~Jun 15, the Bermuda high will strengthen and expand into Gulf. The pattern will grow quiet. High pressure in the summer are heat-waves, while high pressure in the winter are cold air outbreaks. Thus, the second half of June will be pretty basic...cool out west, cool in the NE, and heat wave in-between.

There really isn't much more to say. The heat will build in the Great Plains. It's happened before, and it was much worse in the 1930's. Of course, if something happens and it doesn't fit the media agenda, it didn't happen.
