I wonder if when Forrest says that they used the MMX/FPU of the 6x86MX in the GXm he means the entire FPU of the 6x86MX. While that FPU is by no means a stellar performer, it should certainly be faster than the one in the GX and GXi. I can't wait to see the benchmarks of the 2240.

Not one mention of Cyrix/NSM in that work of propaganda. I clicked on the author's name and sent him the following message:

In your article on the emergence of information appliances there was no mention of the integrated chips from National/Cyrix that started the trend in this market and will certainly be a major player in it going forward. Your blatant bias towards Intel, who invests in and will likely end up owning cnet, is obvious at the least. I have removed cnet from my bookmarks, as your agenda is clear.

But, I have been trying to point out on this thread how Intel's main benefit from their deal with Digital may be with the StrongArm. I still think that it may play out that way.
