The climate data is corrupted and getting more corrupt every day. Glaciers have been melting since the end of the little ice age and are uncovering trees buried when they advanced within the last 2000 years. We haven't measured arctic ice for very long so we have a short record and the arctic is so far away they can say anything they want to about it. We do know that Vikings had farms in Greenland 1000 years ago though.
