I was sort of hoping the el Nino would bring some relief to the West Coast. Apparently not so far.

The way el niño works on the west coast is that in winter, its warmer and less rainy in the PNW and cooler and more rainy in CA......esp S. CA; in summer, its just hotter and dryer in the PNW and has little impact on CA. If el niño holds into this fall and winter, CA should get more rain.........and that's looking more and more probable........it seems the el niño effect on the Pacific is strengthening:
