I hope you're right about the DOJ & their level of satisfaction.
I hope the judge sees it that way too. From what I've heard,
the DOJ, in its complaint, has given MSFT 10 days to comply.
Presumably, this would encourage MSFT to bargain with them for
more time & DOJ would be in the driver's seat. In that case,
I can almost see the DOJ sending out a team of gov't engineers
to Redmond to "oversee" the project.

I'm not certain the court is going to force MSFT to do it, though.
The judge may not see much difference between "disable" &
"de-install" and figure that removal of the code is too intrusive
when disabling will do the same thing quickly & easily. I think
MSFT is playing this angle to the max, and is counting on the
judge's relative ignorance and his reluctance to meddle in the
affairs of private enterprise.

Think about it, if MSFT is required to physically remove IE &
still make Windows a viable product (95 & 98), their asses are
in a sling & they will scream bloody murder. The court will
allow the DOJ to go out to the field to monitor compliance &
the wheels of gov't regulation will slowly start to roll over
the boys from Redmond. MSFT will do what they need to do to
keep that from happening.
