Stitch,
RE: BTO
For what it is worth, QNTM management said in their last CC that BTO should help them, not hurt. Will give them a better handle on inventory, as the boxmaker won't be carrying who knows how much inventory, and the feedback on which drives are selling and which are sitting will be faster. Also, means that DD companies will have to be more on their toes, but that is a good thing for a company that has its act together. They already have to carry a lot of inventory even w/o BTO; when the customer comes knocking for product in this business, you don't want to say, "Oh, right, let me go build a few thousand for you." The difference will be that the orders will be smaller and more frequent, I think.

However, the transition to BTO is what will/is hurting, as box makers work down their inventory to acceptable levels.
