All; I don't mean to sound skeptical, but the follow experience I'll share may read that way. I just finished having dinner with friend who's a computer engineer. He recently declined an offer to work for PCTL, he said they wanted him to do software development (he believes this is the reason they are presently the leader, but feels their market share is going to dramatically decrease in the coming years), but he prefers the hardare/design aspect of videoteleconferencing. Anyway, I had to bring good ole SEXI. I told him my understanding of the technology. He really loved the conceptual scheme (he admits that he is a die hard digital expert and analog solutions aren't something he knows much about). On and on we went, and then he commented, you know Paul, the only disturbing aspect of what you are telling me is that analog signals are very susceptible to interfering factors such as FM signals, especially when you are using existing copper wire. Although, he went on, T.V.'s, as you know, still receive info as an analog signal, but if you ever looked at Coax you'll see some insulation. Old copper doesn't generally have this, although some of the new ethernet UTP5 and CAT3 wiring I've seen being installed at various sites does have good sheilding. He spoke much and I respect his thoughts, although as is always the case, one person is not always correct about everthing they speak about. So I continually bounce ideas off of a varity of people to see what info. concurs with things I've heard from other people. Thus, such info. more valid; his thoughts fit this criteria. What I'm getting at folks is that this technology is so very young it's still burping on our shoulders. As deals take time, so will it be necessary for SEXI to iron out all the kinks in the technology. And regretfully, it will be more clear of limitations that exist. If we are lucky, limitations will only be fuel for to add to SEXI's creative fire. I suggest you all take the time to find an engineer who knows alot about computer technology and drill her/him with your knowledge of SEXI's technology. You'll learn a lot if the person has any experience at all. Fortunately for me, I live around piles of aspiring young engineers and the like, so I have these opportunities seemingly every other day.
