6/12/15 Contest update
Will the AXON IPO be the catalyst for the blow-up of biotech bubble? Possibly, if biotech hedgies were given the Axovant drug and it actually worked to improve their cognition. Just joking. Really! ;-) ;-) ;-)
Meanwhile, Contest portfolios had a rare down week. The Contest median closed Friday up 31.82% YTD (vs. up 35.55% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index closed up 19.79% YTD (vs. up 20.93% YTD a week ago), while the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index closed up 28.61% YTD (vs. up 30.74% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 6.65% YTD (vs. up 7.02% YTD a week ago).
DEWDIL’s portfolio had an off week, but still closed up 90.10% YTD and remained in first place. MCBIO’s portfolio, up 81.30% YTD, held on to second place and DANIEL’s portfolio, up 80.53% YTD, was boosted by TBRA into third place.
At Friday's close, 49 of the 51 Contest portfolios were now in the black with 38 still beating the NBI and 33 now beating the SPSIBI. The 206 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 24.09% and a median YTD gain of 9.39%.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the week’s Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments:
1) Switched the symbol for Cellectis to CLLS from ALCLS.PA.
2) Switched the symbol for Galapagos to GLPG from GLPG.BR
(All corrections, especially adjustments for buyouts & splits, greatly appreciated.)
Have a safe & fun weekend biotechies!
Peace & good health,
Bulba
