Michael-- The longest I've seen lettuce last was 4 weeks... Waht would the Navy pay me for consultation in these matters? I have a genuine Ancient Lettuce Head in my own refrigerator just now: okay, the outer leaves are pretty disgusting, but there are still edible parts. And it's been tehre for at least two months, maybe more. And it ain't long-lasting iceberg, either. Leafy stuff. Iceberg? Iceberg is eternal. Like Wonder Bread. Tubal pregnancies??? I mean, c'mon, they're pretty rare, and anyway one is supposed to abstain while onboard, no? On my my my submarine with the platinum periscope there'll be no such silliness.
