Did you ever see this article from Techweb? I don't recall reading it before.

Both engineers said their companies are prototyping sub-$1,000 systems based on the Cyrix MediaGX that probably would be aimed at corporate users early next year.

While Cyrix is ahead of Intel in addressing the low-cost corporate market, it still faces some delays, the first engineer said. Cyrix has done a good job of enlisting a broad group of Taiwan's motherboard makers to build MediaGX boards. However, the designs are generally aimed at the consumer market and need a different configuration of peripherals and slots to be suitable for business users. Thus, Cyrix has developed a corporate MediaGX reference design that it showed at Comdex, and some U.S. PC makers are now designing their own business systems based around the processor.
