Ghassan: As much as I would like to agree with you regarding the amalgamation. However, this amalgamation could have an adverse effect on near future earnings. This is the real reason behind the depression in the stock price from a high of $12 to $7 5/8. Oracle's stock plunge has nothing to do with the downtrend of Borland's share price. Borland share price began its rapid descent soon after the announcement of the proposed amalgamation and before the earning announcement of Oracle. No matter how you sugar coat it, DY is paying too much for VSGN and Borland's shareholders will have to wait yet another year before they see real appreciation in the stock price. In the meantime there are many other depressed stocks in the market that can provide better return on investment than Borland.
