If you adjust the prior years cooler, then yes it effects whether or not 2014 was the "hottest..." If the prior years were not "adjusted" then 2014 is NOT the "hottest..."

You don't have a clue, weatherguru just showed you how they adjusted the temps, but you are to blind to see it.
