Last month's copy of Popular Revisionist shows the lineage of Emacs clearly being traced back to early Microsoft. And if you do not believe that then you need to re-read "Mein Compf" which outlines the creation of the software industry and Microsoft's role in it. Ties everything in nicely; from Von Neumann to Cray.
