Guys - It is over. There is no longer a rule of law in the US. The Supreme Court of the United States has by today's ruling said so. Judge Scalia knows it.
“We should start calling this law SCOTUScare,” Scalia wrote. “This Court’s two decisions on the Act will surely be remembered through the years. The somersaults of statutory interpretation they have performed (“penalty” means tax, “further [Medicaid] payments to the State” means only incremental Medicaid payments to the State, “established by the State” means not established by the State) will be cited by litigants endlessly, to the confusion of honest jurisprudence"
Of course the rule of law means nothing to the Liberal Demonrats. Add to that the Republicans, that is all but a few, are more concerned about losing their jobs than the country and all you can say is that it is over.
Our Constitutional Republic is a thing of the past. It was great while it lasted.
When I was in grade school we began every day with the principal on the intercom leading us in a prayer and then we stood and placed our right hand over our hearts and repeated the Pledge of Allegiance looking at a large United States flag on the wall over the black board.
We would say, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands."
That Republic is no longer a reality.
Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin,
"Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?"
With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded,
"A republic, if you can keep it."
Obama came into office declaring that he would fundamentally transform America. He has done it.
He has demonstrated his contempt for the Constitution he swore to protect and defend. He has exceeded his power as President setting a president for future Presidents be they Demonrats or Republican.
Once the egg is out of its shell it cannot be put back.
In the future the USA will elect a monarch to rule for four years. Unless the Supreme Court should rule that the President's term limit was a suggestion and not a law.
So much for the Presidency.
The Congress has become a totally impotent body as representatives for the good of the people . Save for a few brave souls the Congressmen are bought and paid for. They believe their jobs are all important. They will do anything and say anything to get re elected. They will lie and cheat and do whatever is necessary to promote themselves. They will sell out the country to score a few points in the latest poll. Politics is their career.
Congress was to make the laws. All spending bills were to originate in the House and then go to the Senate. If the Senate modified the law it went back to the house.
It was meant to be a long arduous process to get a bill or law through Congress. Now laws and bills are passed without the members of Congress even reading them.
The leader of party in power even determines what can be debated and what can be voted on.
The American people know all this but do not care.
Now The Supreme Court has usurped the authority to re write laws based on what they believe the law should have been. I was taught in civics class that the Supreme Court was non partisan and ruled on the constitutionality of the laws written by Congress and signed by the President. That was how it was in the old Republic. You know the one, the one where the Supreme Court followed the Constitution.
Activist judges now write laws as it suits them and they vote along party lines.
So sadly enough it is over. The death throws of the Republic which may continue a little while are terrible to watch.
The founding Fathers warned us this would probably happen though they did all they could to prevent it.
From a moral standpoint the nation of my childhood is gone. Debauchery and depravity are glorified.
Sexual perversion that was anathema in my youth is now defended as perfectly normal. TV shows fill the family rooms of Americans glorifying sexual deviants and promoting perverted life styles. The Tylenol commercial shows every possible combination of couples with a little baby. The message being that any mixture of genders can be a family. The idea that marriage is a union between a man and a woman is now considered old fashion. On and on this goes to the point of utter insanity
Gay pride has been officially recognized in the White House. You know the one, the one that at one time was the people's house. Obama now claims it is his.
