Safety isn't a concern?

Proper handling of something potentially deadly isn't a concern?

Keep society safe from the nut jobs who might wield deadly weapons (car or gun) isn't a concern?

Seems to be similar to me. Only thing that makes it "apples and oranges" is the 2nd amendment, but like I said, just the mere existence of it isn't a strong enough defense because it can be amended.
