Safety isn't a concern?

Depends on whether you intend to carry concealed in public or go hunting - both of which often require training in a majority of states already.

PS: Cars kill more people than guns.

Keep society safe from the nut jobs who might wield deadly weapons (car or gun) isn't a concern?

The NICS background check was designed to do that - it sort of works - but guns are always prevalent on the black market in every society worldwide regardless of the laws and registration databases. A stolen car or gun is not something you can register or train away. Let alone the obvious fact both are illegal and of course so is murder.

but like I said, just the mere existence of it isn't a strong enough defense because it can be amended.

Yes it is for now - you want to change it - go start a petition or get a constitutional convention convened. Same logic applies to free speech which lots of libtard are already hoping to deal with via gay hate speech against gay marriage and say Mohammed was child molester etc etc.
