If you REALLY want to talk about a monopoly:
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the
recording industry in the United States. Its members consist of record labels and distributors, which the
RIAA says "create, manufacture and/or distribute approximately 85% of all legally sold recorded music
in the United States." en.wikipedia.org

I read a few years ago that only 15% of the price of a CD goes to the artist.
I don't know if it is true, maybe Doren knows. Anyway, the Justice Department should have broken
up this large business RIAA monopoly long ago as far as I am concerned. It reminds me of when
the MOFIA controlled the Jukeboxes.
