This is where you and many people have it all wrong.

Intel will ALWAYS stop making a profitable item in order to make a MORE PROFITABLE item.

Check ouy WHY Intel stopped making the 286, 386 and 486. They were making very good profits on each of these but saw a much better opportunity in selling newer, faster devices.
