Perhaps. However, paid touts such as Jeff Opedyke and Dan Ramsey have distributed plenty of it. So have various other "consultants" who were paid with stock.

Ross Perot also invested in Next computer. But that's besides the point. Scam companies always love to talk about big name investors or strategic alliances with large, reputable firms, but that doesn't make them any less of a scam, it just makes for more victims. Bre-x had plenty of reputable investors and investment bankers - including J.P. Morgan.

These questions were raised because they're valid questions. Short-sellers hope to profit by exposing fraudulent enterprises. Shills hope to profit by making vague promises and stealing money from hapless vicitims.

The differencce between companies like Amgen and companies like Zonagen is that the former are legitimate businesses with topnotch management that return real shareholder value by delivering great products, revenues and earnings, while the latter are simply vehicles to swindle investors.
