Because even if it isn't the main reason, its important to point out that it is A reason. If it accounted for say 5-10% of the extra unemployment then it would be a minor reason but it would still mean a lot of people were unemployed because of it. It didn't account for 5-10% of the extra unemployment. That's just wishful, negative thinking on your part.
