Because at the same time he was pushing for everyone to short US bonds (when the 30 year yeild was at 7%! He, as I recall in his own words stated "There is no way in my life time that we see the 30 year bond at 6%", and in fact he practically put his life on the line that the the yeild will be at 8% or higher by October/November time frame (of the year 1997)!!! And besides I do not recall him stating to short Hong Kong until after the HangSang market had dropped to under the 11000 level (where it currently is and most likely will be the bottom)! Anyway, you seem to have some sort of fascination with Jimmy The Rodgers! Your opinion is very well respected. However I suggest you follow this guy a bit more closely before making such statements! I, relutantly and regretfully, have to see and listen to him every Friday morning on CNBC since I watch CNBC's SquawkBox show every day! regards, Addi Jamshidi
