I keep telling myself that there is no substitute for being in the right place at the right time, meaning buying near the recommended price and its been working more often than not. And when it does work it is paying off. The rewards are more than five times the risk. #2 is another example of a stock that is working out very well.

What I'm finding surprising but gratifying this year is the significantly better performance of the many of the stocks during a period when the market isn't doing much. During 2013 the market was strong and in 2014 pretty good. Stocks had the wind at their backs much of the time during those year but that hasn't been the case for most stocks this year.
