Set To Clean Up With New Poultry Disinfectant is the headline of a article in Investors Business Daily Wednesday 17 sorry if it was already mentioned I don't have the time to read all the posts. Alcide Corp makes a topical solution used in the dairy industry to clean cows utters and keep them disease free. Has a new product that won FDA approval in April 96 to clean chicken carcasses in poultry plants and effectively control the spread of common foodborne diseases like salmonella and E.coli. The product called Sanova is now awaiting U.S. Dept. of agriculture approval for widespread use, the product is made from acid which apparently leaves no harmful residue and dosen't alter the taste. Alcides distributor and partner is Novus International Inc. who is firmly entrenched in the poultry indusrty and sell feed to poultry farmers. The article goes on to say timing is everything and their ready now, there are new regulations that go into effect next month from USDA that mandate reductions in food microorganisms in food and plants must implement a system of preventive steps to improve the safety of poultry and meat. This is a 12 person company whos stock went from $20 in May to about $53 this week the symbol is ALCD. Seems that this company has the right partners, who have the right connections. The article dosen't say how much their system costs a plant to set up or what the cost of operating such a system, all things being equal I'd rather my food washed with ozone rather than acid.
