Dan,

I think this analysis, based on financial results of the top networkers, only looks at part of the picture. They have the concept that an end-to-end solution makes you most competitive. You can't look at this market segment without considering the telephone companies. I have looked at MCI in detail and if their efforts reflect what is happening in the industry, they are marketing serious end-to-end LAN/WAN solutions. They are also developing their data storage business. I think the telecos want to make up for lost time.
