the 2nd amendment gave us the power to overthrow the gov if it became tyrannical and that's what the father's wanted. That why they let us have the same weapons the military had. we didn't rely on a well regulated militia during the revolutionary war most time they ran after firing one shot. the Fathers knew this. It was thrown in to appease a few others mainly the federalists
