I also like jams, and some of the best music I've ever heard came from them. Two of the best live jams I've attended were:

Freddie King in Austin in the summer in an un-air conditioned giant Quonset hut. He was really rocking, and began glaring at his bass player, who apparently wasn't keeping up. He was playing three parts at once with a flat pick, bass, rhythm and lead.

Then, there was 'little' Stevie Ray Vaughn for free at the Rome Inn pizza place one Thursday night. He started copying a Jimi Hendrix tune, but with none of Jimi's mistakes, and took it where Jimi had never gone for over two hours.

My favorite recorded jam is split across the Allman Brother's two double albums, Live at the Fillmore East and Eat a Peach.
