So no, the US is not on the road to a Greece style melt-down.
Other countries might be, however. Spain, Italy, and some other members of the Euro come to mind.

The problem with socialism is that eventually you always run out of other people's money.

Just because the US has more accesses to said money only postpones the inevitable.
