Point & Figure charting is different than other charts in that the time element is left out. This was of great
value to me when I first started trading stocks in '62. Without computers, many of us had to update our own
charts, using just the ticker tape and the next day's WSJ. P&F meant you could follow a hundred stocks
because there was nothing to update (with most stocks) on a daily basis. It was used by many traders in
the '30s and '40s. I never did get the hang of the count system used to calculate the price objective in the
target prediction. I mainly use it now (along with other charts) to show me the support/resistance points as
a stock advances/retreats.
