In the second quarter, gas consumption by the US steel sector dropped 22% ( a good indicator of durable goods consumption) and building materials group dropped 2%. This suggests the second quarter GDP contracted as did the first quarter. If so, then the US Commerce dept will call a (mild) recession. When the US gets a cold, Canada gets pneumonia. We could be facing a correction in the markets, further softening in commodity prices, and any recovery in the junior sector still a long way off:-(......
