To Burt, and all-

It's Bill Shaw again. Just thought I would pass on a little Christmas-Cheer-You-Up for all
you depressed Radisys owners on this thread. (TRUE STORY)

I was standing in line at a local Portland bank yesterday waiting my turn in the cattle
chute, feeling depressed at why I hadn't sold my huge position in Radisys at 50 or above
rather than being vulnerable to unrealistic market fears about over reactionary Press
coverage of some propped-up small Asian economy, and being vulnerable to the whims of
Radisys market makers who are only interested in short term trading profits by moving
this stock down (and up), while destroying what small volume the stock used to trade. I
glanced at the "Steer" ahead of me and lo-and-behold, he had a check in his hoof with the
name RADISYS stamped on it. Even though I was not a member of this guy's herd, I did
have something in common with him and decided to engage him in some friendly
conversation. So I moved in closer, when what to my wondering eyes did appear but the
word "PAYROLL" written across the top of the script in his hoof!

"Howdy, Pardner!" I began. "I couldn't help notice the brand "Radisys" on that check
you're holding. I'm a long time investor in Radisys, and Boy, I sure am getting weary and
pissed with some of the market makers moving this stock up and down, drying up the
volume."

"We are well aware of their activity in dealing with our stock," he replied. "I started with
Radisys when it had 35 employees. Now we are starting to occupy our second large
building and we have over 350 employees."

"I think management is good, " I said. (Actually, management is fantastic!)

Turns out "John" was hired a while ago as an operations manager and he has really put
things together -- as well as the rest of the management team at Radisys.

"What ever you do, hold on to your stock and buy more if you can," John said. "We're
going to have a BANNER 4th quarter, we're going to have a BANNER 1998, and as far
as I can see, we're going to have a BANNER several years to come!"

"Gee thanks!" I replied.

"MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-ry CHRISTMAS!" said John.
