Well, John, bozo, like everything else, is in the eye of the beholder. I got my own idea of who the bozos are around here, but I try to keep the ad hominems in check until they start coming my way. So, the Windows control panel says you can uninstall IE, but you can't, really. So, who's confusing who here? I'm confused too, on this particular issue, because IE isn't showing up on the install/uninstall panel, even though I got OSR2 on a Micron, just like the Judge, and I sure got IE installed, even though I didn't ask for it.
To repeat myself, as usual, I've posted plenty of press refs on this, and my thoughts as to whats really going on; as time permits, I'm going to do some experiments with retail windows and installing various software to see who installs what. If Office 97 installs all the same system dll's that IE does, will that mean that Office 97 is "integrated with the OS" too?
Meanwhile, I'm sure you and Reg will continue to offer your right thinking opinions, as dictated by pronouncements by Microsoft on what their current version of "the truth" is, espoused, as always, ethically, courteously, humorously.
Cheers, Dan. |
