Teck has not booked any 2P reserves for the Frontier project, only contingent resource. So they won't have to write down anything. I've read that one of the main purposes of the Saudi's protecting market share and allowing oil prices to drop was to force oil companies to delay development of large scale projects such as oil sands, oil shale and offshore fields. If that was their objective, then it has been successful.
