Paul: I'm scared to ask..invisible hand?
Some do believe they have God on their side. But I doubt if God cares about Gold, DJIA, XAU or US dollar, or favours one above the other.
Seriously though, the wealth and power of the nations of the world are all carefully and intimately involved in the maintenance of the monetary and economic system. Yes, they lost control badly in 1929. You can be assured they will do anything to prevent a repeat! But, interestingly, cracks have appeared here and there - South America, Russia, and Asia. Much resources will be poured into Asia, because if they lose that battle, the outcome of the war is in serious doubt. It is difficult to understate the importance of this matter. This is an "invisible" battle, occuring behind the scenes, unawares by most of the population. And the old power houses of USA and Europe stand strong in defense, and look impenetrable. At this moment.
The War: STATUS QUO vs. Debt, Confidence in Money, Inflation, Deflation. And gold's status depends on the outcome. A fine balance for now, but STATUS QUO must keep defending, as the others are attacking!
