PLM – The Minnesota DNR laid out an updated timetable for the permitting process for PolyMet’s NorthMet project. The DNR is giving state, federal and tribal agencies until early November to review and revise the 3,100-page preliminary final EIS statement, which they received last month. The final EIS would then be published, and a 30-day public comment period would begin sometime between early November and early December, with the state issuing its determination of whether the final EIS is adequate in early February 2016. Analyst Krueger believes that although the permitting process continues to stretch out, this was the most detailed timetable that the DNR has ever provided and should improve visibility into the process.
