I am a newcomer to the thread. I did post the WSJ info on Wednesday morning but didn't have a chance to elaborate as I was in a hurry to catch a plane. I have now had a chance to look at the company and read the subsequent post since the WSJ article and this is my take on the company.
STRANGE...I have never seen such paranoia and control by a company CEO. All of those ex-FBI agents to keep the company employees under control.
STRANGE...Someone posted that they had spoken with IR and they knew nothing about an earnings shortfall but the CEO warns anaylyst in November that 1998 profits would be affected by delays in the start-up of new production lines in Texas.
STRANGE...The CEO boasts about "establishing a partnership" with major corporations and now the corporations are denying that they have ever been or not now buying anything from ZOLT. These companies are going out of their way to deny such association with ZOLT when it is normal procedure for such companies just to decline commenting on who they do busy with. Sure sounds to me that you shouldn't expect a "partnerships" from these adamant denials.
STRANGE...The CEO first defends his use of "stragetic partnerships" with these companies and when this doesn't fly(apparently) he denies even using the term and says he can't be responsible for what Merrill Lynch has in "their" transcripts from "his" analyst presentation. Couldn't he be more "responsible" to his shareholders by suing Merrill Lynch for liable if they are spreading erroneous information about ZOLT.

Anyone having money invested in this company, such invest a few dollars in a movie this weekend. Could I be so bold as to suggest that you see...."Titanic".
