Most great ideas were the result of a dream.
It is perfectly logical to assume that our antiquated election
system be replaced by some other means. Whether it be touch tone
phone, bar code scanning, via the internet, or some other method.
The internet is a great way to receive news and information
besides watching the network spin doctors read news
written by some intelligent person behind the scenes. The decline
in television ratings may prove that people are tiring of the big 3
network reporting bias. As for the gov't taxing internet usage, count on it. Already some phone companies are increasing fees on the amount of telephone lines in a persons home. Some kind of "modem" or internet access fee will happen some day. Expect sales taxes to be collected on goods bought in all states via mail orders or the internet. The gov't can't monitor purchases made over the internet (not yet anyway) and will not want that tax revenue to vanish. Your suggestions are not to be dismissed as merely a dream from a "cynical" person. They will come to fruition some day, bet on it.
As for Bill Gates, Microsoft appears to be making the same boo boos
that IBM and AT&T have made over the years. Expect them to be
broken up by the gov't into several different companies some day.
