Justa, Thanks. You're probably right, when it's time to make the switch, the S&P would be equally unattractive. I'm generally adverse to carrying any margin; but perhaps, I should consider buying semis low on margin, then paying off the margin loan when high keeping the difference as a core holding... Is there a major flaw to that approach besides the margin interest and the risk that prices will continue to go lower after my margin purchase? Ian.
