Greetings Nancy, with due respect to you as you say you search for truth, Romans 11, must be read with the context of the previous chapters, namely chapters 9 and 10 to understand what the Holy Spirit is telling us through the Apostle Paul. In essence Paul states to his countrymen (Jews), that under the New Covenant that blossomed out of the death of the Old Covenant, no longer was natural birth in a Jewish family a condition that made a person the people of God. God in His promise to Abraham ( Gen 12:1-3 ), has fullfilled this promise through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and now all nations of the earth have the salvation of God available to them. Romans 11:23, states that they ( Jews ) , if they do not continue in thier unbelief, God is able to graft them in to the cultivated olive tree. However, their grafting in is only possible by the way fore-ordained by Almighty God, and that is by believing that Jesus is the Christ, the One foretold by the prophets. Romans 11:26 states that in this manner both Jew and Gentile can be reconciled to God. That way is through the Lord Jesus Christ alone. Any other way, religion or method to attempt to reconcile oneself with Almighty God is anti-christ by biblical definition . Please do dot misconstrue this response as an attack against you or any nation in general, but as a sincere desire to see the Word of God honoured and loved. Robert |
