Cautious_Optimist: I agree with you on many points. This is a tough time, it seems to me, for value investors.

I have all my shares of SAFM, VIAB, and F. I believe SAFM and VIAB will eventually revert to higher prices. Every day I consider adding more shares. I hold F with no intention of adding more -- I'm looking to maybe add more Volkswagen (VLKAY); maybe also beef up my few shares of GM if that stock drops more.

Perhaps I did not prioritize top line growth due to my paranoia about serially high valuations.

I do look for companies now with top line growth and/or companies with high profit margins. Some I allow into my portfolio because they have revenue growth but seemingly haven't wanted to, or been able to, bring max profits to the bottom line. Others bought where the profit margins seem high and maybe sustainable for a while. One recent buy was BABA, mentioned in an earlier post. Today I decided to step up for a few shares of BIIB.

Meanwhile, like you, I continue to lose net worth daily. A consequence primarily of over-investing/speculating in oil stocks and oil service stocks. My cash position as a percentage of my portfolios, remains at the highest point it's ever been.
