Right... I remember you saying that. We are at least 100 feet above the Bay and there are no close rivers to us. Since we put on gutters with helmets we have had no water in the basement for over 2 years. And that is a good thing.

During hurricane Isabel, we were away from our home and our grandson didn't notice the 6 inches of water in our basement. It took out our internal water system but I was able to repair it myself as FEMA was no help.... they just sprang for the inverter we had purchased for just such a power emergency. But that water came from a combo of leaking gutters and water system leaking into the basement. And the amazing thing was that our sump pump, once I unclogged it, pumped the water out in 5 minutes - hard to believe it was so powerful since a basement with 6 inches of water in it is a LOT of water.
