Cuba was the most prosperous country in Latin America before the revolution. On a par with Argentina or Chile. It's remarkable how communism has damaged the country.

Liberals feel compelled to defend the record of failed communist countries for ideological reasons ... that tells us something about liberals.

But Cuba has the highest life expectancies in the region. The number of physicians and dentists per capita is among the highest in the world. Cuba has the lowest HIV prevalence in the Americas. Cuba provides more medical personnel to the developing world than all the G8 countries combined.

No statistics from communist countries can be believed. We shouldn't assume Cuban doctors would be considered doctors in the US. We should consider most of them poorly trained medics.
