Greetings Bob, and welcome to this thread. Further to Emiles post, have you considered Rev.1:3, " Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things that are written in it; for the time is near: ". I understand this book to be primarily written to the early Church, and we ( the Church) 1900 years later are looking over thier shoulders reading this Book. Verse 3 promises a special blessing for those who read, hear and keep the words of this prophecy. To think that God would state this, knowing full well it was meant for His Church at a later time and not the early Church, is I find, totally out of character of a Holy God . Indeed these brethren were truly blessed by this revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ, and what really happened by His first coming , suffering , death and ascension. When He ascended back to glory He was crowned King of Kings and Lord of Lords. ( Please read Rev. 5and 6).All power and honour in heaven and earth has been given to the Lamb of God, from this time and for-evermore, the Lamb has been crowned, let the earth rejoice in the salvation of our God. Grace and peace to you Bob. Robert |
