Archie P,
Last night my wife and I saw "Titanic". Very good movie. Stirred a lot of emotion. Sort of like UMSI in an analogical way. 2200 people on the ship 1700 went down. The captain in the true traditon of seamanship was one of those that went down. He ignored the iceberg warnings, he waited too long to sound the alarm, he had not made the proper preparations for emergency, he was not well schooled on how difficult it was to maneuver the massive vessel of which he had been placed in charge. But he did go down with his ship as any true skipper would. Baker on the other hand,if we are to believe, and I for one do, is vacationing while the ship sinks lower and lower into the murky depths of oblivion. He also has ignored the warnings, waited to long to sound the alarm, and was not well schooled on how to manuever the vessel he was in charge of. The difference is simple. He is not going down with his ship, in fact he is not even on it. He has seemingly provided lifejackets for only a few, those immediate members of his crew, who baled out back in June, July, August, and September. The rest of the passengers have been left to fend for themselves. There are names for these kinds of people, but I won't denegrate this thread by spelling them out. We all know what they are.
Now in the spirit of the season, what are we to do?
I personally would like to wish Mr. Baker and those close to him a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
And I would like to ask Mr. Baker to give us all a Christmas gift with a meaning. He has the capability of doing it. Mr. Baker your Christmas gift to us would be for you to give up your position of CEO of what is left of this floundering company and turn it over to someone who can salvage this mess, if in fact it is salvagable. If you do,then we too can say "yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus".
Regards,
