With Warren on the Barron's Front Page this week, it seems timely to take a peak at some of his "holdings". <g>
Of course, as it is mentioned in Barron's article, his latest coup is his previous purchases of Heinz and KRFT and the merger into KHC.<g> online.barrons.com
But I was looking at some of the others 46 "secondary" holdings as listed on Wikipedia. <g> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_assets_owned_by_Berkshire_Hathaway finance.yahoo.com
It seems it may be a good "Watch List" to keep and look at when doing occasional "scanning". <g>
For instance, this week, out of those holdings, the one with best looking performance is V, which has continued to make new Highs every year for the past 5 years, including its all time H on Friday, when it had an UG in spite of the General Market's present near term "correction".<g>
In the second and third places, in that category, are TMK and VRSN, which besides their good previous performance, also performed well on Friday., closing up 3.53% and 2.58% respectively.<g>
The best performance % wise on Friday, was CBI, which was up 4.36% for the day after it reported its 2ndQ results on Thursday and is still trying to get off from its near term downtrend, that started on May 20.<g>
CBI had a good run from 2000 to 2007 when it went from the $2.78 level to $61.74. His name is somewhat misleading, since its headquarters are in The Woodlands, TX. <g> |
