College Station tends to have low unemployment. But it is seasonal. Low when the university is in session, a little higher when it isn't.The problem is, most jobs are low or unskilled. The reason why I am in Dallas was I found it impossible to find a job there. I kept running into the "O" word.

So it is very third world-like in some respects. The vast majority of jobs are minimum wage to about $10 an hour. There are a sprinkling of semi-professional and professional jobs, typically paying a third to a half of what the equivalent job pays in Houston or Dallas. Heck, even Beaumont.

i-node would love it.
