Jacob, I'm not a financial expert but here is my guess on why Korea's Samsung and Hyundai are going to postpone their expansion plans abroad while there's a financial crisis in their country:---Apparently, they were relying before the crisis began on their dollars and dollars from their banks there to fund the expansion abroad. Now, probably, out-flow of dollars from the country is restricted or the banks do not have enough dollars to lend them---so they are going to wait till the Won appreciates and they get the needed dollars for expansion out of the country...To expand operations inside their country is probably OK...
