I believe that I'm 7 or 8 hours ahead. Riyadh is 3 hours ahead of GMT. My computer is at work (Internet access privately in Saudi Arabia is almost impossible to obtain) and so I mainly use it from 0700 to 1730 my time. This means that I'm getting on-line when you guys are getting sleepy, and by the time you wake up, it's time to go home. I occassionally come in after hours to check e-mail, etc, but not often. Also, the Arabic weekend is Thur/Fri, which further screws things up.
In case you didn't know, I'm Australian (couldn't you tell from my accent ?). I guess that when I get home eventually, the CSMA thread will span the planet, as I will be truly on the other side of the world. I have a plastic globe, and when I look through it from my home city of Brisbane, the other side of the world is in the Atlantic ocean, off the coast of Newfoundland.
By the way, it's true that our drains empty clockwise, the moon looks different and we even have stars that you guys can't see from the northern hemisphere.
Ahhhhh, getting homesick, during the holiday period (that is illegal in this country). It's a long way from home, in more ways than one, if you get my drift. Best wishes to all anyway, at this time of year, and have a safe and happy holiday.
