Fox News – Planned Parenthood Videos Worse Than ISIS Beheading Videos As more (heavily edited) Planned Parenthood videos continue to surface, Fox News host Eric Bolling now claims that the videos are worse than that of ISIS beheadings. “I’ve watched the beheading videos of ISIS. These videos of Planned Parenthood were far worse. They literally made me nauseous. Don’t watch them. I’ve never seen such callus, cold, just disdain for human life than these Planned Parenthood people.” The comments came as the latest video was dissected by a panel of “experts” at Fox News for the Fox Five program. Bolling continued on to say that Planned Parenthood is a “collaboration of evil that rains shame down on all of us.” The panel took turns feigning horror – while taking breaks to look down at talking points reminding them to keep pushing the “selling body parts” angle – interrupting any attempt to bring sense to the conversation. Not even one shocking statement was new. Geraldo Rivera served as the only opposing voice at the table – claiming that defunding Planned Parenthood would be shying away from the harsh realities of medical research and “might put an end to what would be….harvesting the cure for cancer.” Rivera tried in vain to illustrate the point that using medical tissue was a necessary part of medical science, “My point is that you can’t destroy the hopes of humanity for the cure of these horrible diseases.” The entire segment served as a tidy little campaign ad, rather than any sort of attempt to inform or debate – a fact not lost on Rivera as he jumped in with the last word. This is “Not to mention the fact that if Republicans insist on making this the issue, this along with immigration, Republicans will lose [in 2016],” said Rivera. “Thinking it’s disgusting is different than thinking it’s illegal.” Never mind the fact that these videos are the product of propagandist David Daleiden – a man with strong political ties including video sting veterans Lila Rose and the ACORN video scandal’s own James O’Keefe. The truth, regardless of the number of released videos remains the same: Planned Parenthood is not actively hunting mothers to perform abortions on to collect body parts – they are simply using the result of those mother’s own difficult decisions for medical benefit. Is this not more humane than simply tossing pieces in an incinerator? A surgery is a difficult thing to watch for most people – who expected an abortion to be any different? This entirely made-up controversy is the brain-child of a hanging-off-the-cliff party desperate to find anything with which to gain a foothold in 2016. It is based on the myth that abortions are used as birth control and that somehow woman are being hunted to harvest organs – which would cause one to assume Planned Parenthood is also out causing unwanted pregnancies? I can’t wait to see that undercover video. Conservatives still wrestle with a difficult reality: that you cannot ban both contraceptives and abortion while continuing to believe that abstinence will someday beat out biology – for this is exactly how we have increased the rates of unwanted pregnancies. Rivera nailed the point – if Republicans continue to choose to revive decades-old debates as a way of winning 2016, they will lose. Doubling down against immigrants, against abortion, and against gay rights serves only to severely cut into the pie of potential voters and the vain hope to win solely on voter turnout. Wait until Fox hears that people can donate their grandmother’s body to medical research – oh the horror.
