Those types of hunts are very limited so they cost a fortune (basic supply and demand) and there are a lot of palms to grease in order to legally get your trophy home.

Did the guides know this lion - probably - did the hunter - maybe. Most of those types of hunts do not come with a guarantee. Haven't really been reading this story.

If true - that would be very bad for everyone including the future of the animals as it could stop the money and leave the animals fate in the hands of poachers.
